Roof Condition Certification
Roof Condition Certification Form, CIT RCF-1 1108, may be requested by Citizens Insurance or other insurers in cases where no building permit can be verified for a roof or for roofs 25 years and older. By submitting a Roof Certification Form, homes that were formerly considered uninsurable, may become elgible for coverage if the roof has a remaining life of 3 or more years. Our Inspectors have the training to certify your roof if this service has been requested by your insurance company.
Is a Roof Condition Certification the same thing as a Roof Inspection?
No, a Roof Inspection is a completely different service usually performed for buyers as part of a pre-purchase Inspection. Roof Condition Certifications are done for insurance companies and used to limit their liability by not insuring roofs without a verifiable permit history or older roofs at the end of their useful life. Keep in mind, often you can save money on older homes by ordering the 4 Point Inspection that includes the same information provided on the roof condition certification. It is best to verify with your insurer that they will accept that form prior to paying for both services.
