Citizens Insurance or other insurers may require a Roof Condition Certification Form, CIT RCF-1 1108, in cases where no building permit can be verified for a roof or for roofs 25 years and older. By submitting a Roof Certification Form, homes that were formerly considered uninsurable, may become elgible for coverage if the roof has a remaining life of 3 or more years. Our Inspectors have the training to certify your roof if this service has been requested by your insurance company.
Is a Roof Certification the same thing as a Roof Inspection?
No, a Roof Inspection is a completely different service usually performed for buyers as part of a pre-purchase Inspection. Roof Certifications are done for insurance companies and used to limit their liability by not insuring roofs without a verifiable permit history or older roofs at the end of their useful life.
